SharkTech 今天遭受了一次 32GB流量DDOS攻击
Dear Valued Customer,Our network was affected earlier tonight due to a large scale attack. The attack initially started at ~32 Gbps and increased its capacity quickly, until it started affecting our upstream links. Although our network has been designed to filter large DDOS attacks, the specific attack became extremely large requiring further actions.
We had to call our providers to null-route the attacked IPs and re-route some of our traffic between upstreams to balance our traffic appropriately. We rarely need to null-route attacked IPs through upstreams since we are fully capable to filter attacks within the data-center, so the procedure took much longer than expected.
Our network engineers are currently working into taking proactive measures to avoid similar incidents in future. More specifically, we are going to implement BGP communities that will allow us to instantly null-route IPs through upstreams in such rare cases without requiring any further communication, something that we never needed before. Additionally, we have been analyzing the attack and started reporting it to the involved ISPs.
