As an East Palestine resident (1mi from ground zero) who is still currently displaced from their home (out of necessary precaution for my and my family's health) and long term PhilD viewer, this is surreal to be watching right now.
The entire situation has been extremely shady. While our small town officials are trying to handle it the best they can for our community's health, mishandling from state and other higher-ups, combined with the neglect and lack of responsibility taken by Norfolk Southern wanting to get out of this as cheap as possible, is making it impossible.
We just want to be able to go home to air we can breathe, water we can use, and an environment we can live in without the fear that such an act of negligence (due to Precision Scheduled Railroading) will happen again- here or elsewhere.
