Hello Pig,
Recently we noticed a significant increase of DDoS attacks with flood traffic originated in China targeting your services in Los Angeles. The cost of mitigating this particular type of attacks is many times higher than if would have been originated somewhere else, therefore we need together to take some actions to maintain the competitiveness of the service you use.
We would like to know which case applies to you:
a) You do not have Chinese customers and you do not mind if we throttle (or even block) Chinese IPs during very large attacks
b) You do have Chinese customers and you expect the service to work at least as it worked until now
If case b) we would impose a surcharge of $2500 per month to your DDoS service starting September 1st, for foreseeable future. Obviously, if you go back to case a), we will cancel the surcharge at the end of that month.
Best regards,
